I do not currently have a car – and therefore do not have insurance.

If I were to rent a car (staying with a relative not on the strip) is that a bad idea? What are the odds of getting into an accident there? (not my fault – others)

Really can’t afford to replace a rental car if it gets damaged – but I really want to be able to drive around the strip etc.

My car is in the shop being repaired by my insurance company after being flooded in a storm (my understanding is that this doesn’t count against me since i had no control over it). I’ve never been in a wreck before but I hit someone from behind in my rental car (Enterprise) and totaled it. I didn’t purchase their insurance but used mine instead (Farmers) because I’m stupid. What are the likely consequences. I have no money, no house, and lots of student loan debt. What can happen to me? Can they sue me? If they do and I don’t have money what happens to me?
Yeah, I have full cover insurance because my car in the shop isn’t bad off yet. So I’ll have to deal with the deductible and raised rates? That wouldn’t be so bad considering. Will defensive driving help? I got a ticket as well.
